Here's What Changed Everything For Me
I wanted painting friends. But I wasn't ready for in-person classes.
The thought of someone watching me paint made my stomach tight. What if my trees looked like broccoli? What if I held my brush wrong?
So I painted alone at my kitchen table. Just me and 476 saved tutorials across YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook. Complete chaos.
That's when I realized I needed two things: organization AND people.
Sure, there are online communities. But you know how it goes. Someone posts their first tree and here come the keyboard warriors. "Your values are off." "You need better paper" - comments they'd never say to your face.
I wanted something different.
So I built Just Add Water Studio with both pieces - An organized tutorial library AND live paint sessions. Real people painting together in real time. Sharing is optional. Critics are banned.
Now when someone asks, "How do I fix this muddy green?" they get helpful suggestions right then. Not three weeks later in a Facebook comment.

Here's How The Live Paint Session Works

There's no recording, so make sure you can attend at that time.
Three Days Before
Know what you're going to paint before the live session. You'll get an email with three tutorial links at different levels.
It's a New Year, so we're painting skies!
The endless search of where and how to start is done for you. Pick one to paint.
Need Help With Zoom?
Two hours before the live session, we'll have a tech check. Let's make sure your camera and audio work.
Only stay as long as it takes.
No stress.
Between Tech Check and the Live Session
Perfect time to watch your chosen tutorial once all the way through.

During Live Paint Session - Part 1
I'll welcome everyone. Share what we're about. Then you'll head to a small breakout room to paint.
Here's the best part: Each room is hosted by one or two of our members. Someone who's been painting with us for months. We want everyone to have a chance to meet and talk.
